Getting Started - Single Account

Use the "Create Single Account" wizard if:

  • You don't use Outlook Express, Mozilla, Netscape Mail, Eudora (if you do, you should use the Import Accounts method)
  • You want to setup a supported Webmail account

Access the Create Single Account wizard by pressing the "Add..." button (on the left side of the main POP Peeper dialog), and then choosing the "Create Single Account" option.

If setting up a Webmail account, simply enter the requested information.


The remainder of this page only applies if creating a POP3 account.

If setting up a POP3 account, enter your email address, and all the other information requested.

On page 4, you will be asked for the POP3 Server, if you do not know what the address is, use the "Discover POP3 Server" button, described below.

Wizard: Discover POP3 server

This page will attempt to connect to several variations of the server domain to help determine what the POP3 server address is. The list contains the most popular choices, is not exhaustive, and it is not guaranteed that it will find your POP3 Server.

  • Test Selected Servers -- This option will test the selected servers. It will attempt to connect and login into the specified server, using the supplied username and password. The status "** Valid" will appear if this was successful. "Unknown Host" will appear if the server does not exist. The other status returned do not imply that it is the wrong choice, but some other error occured that prevented POP Peeper from logging in successfully.
  • Modify Account Info -- This option will allow you to change the working username, password, and/or port to use to log into each server.
  • Add Server -- This advanced option will allow you to specify an additional server address to be tested.
